The Denver Jazz Orchestra will feature vocalist Kat Ellis at a special evening event at Cherokee Castle.
There’s something very special about American big band music on a summer day against the backdrop of incredible scenery of Cherokee Ranch. Acclaimed jazzman, Andrew Hudson brings the best driving rhythms and powerful horns to the Veranda Tent. The Denver Jazz Orchestra is Denver’s premier big band featuring 19 of the area’s top musicians. For 15 years plus, DJO has excited jazz fans throughout Colorado playing the great swing music of the ’40s, with contemporary big band music including sexy Latin bossa novas, modern fusion, and beautiful ballads. You’ll enjoy sounds from Count Basie to Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich to Tito Puente! Get ready for Swing, Latin, ballads, and funk! Reservations include time to explore the majestic Castle, the concert in the Veranda, in two sets with intermission featuring refreshing savories and sweets. A cash bar will be available. Grab your friends and plan an outing to hear the DJO.
